Membership opportunities with the Thunder Bay Folk Society.
In addition to organizing the Thunder Bay Folk Festival, the society’s plans include developing an ongoing program of cultural projects throughout the year. Small concerts, open-mic events, drum circles, educational presentations, workshops, and dances are just a few of the projects underway. The goal is to involve musicians and music lovers of all ages, provide venues for local artists, and introduce to Alpena artists prominent in the folk music scene today.
If you have a passion for local grassroots music and the traditional arts, please consider joining us in our mission to foster folk music in northeast Michigan! Running a first-class organization that is able to bring these goals into reality requires a small army of dedicated volunteers. We ask you to become a member and help us bring these ambitious plans to fruition here in Northeast Michigan so that everyone has the chance to experience folk music and arts right here in our own community.
$5 - 1-Year Individual Membership
We sincerely would love to have you as a member. You’ll be kept up-to-date on festival plans and other activities via email throughout the year. These emails will keep you privy to all of the society's plans, events, and volunteer opportunities so that you can stay involved in whatever way suits you best! Current members also have a vote at our Annual Membership Meeting, held in December. This is where the year’s activities are summarized and new board members are elected by the membership at large.
$25 - 5-Year Membership
Get a 5-year membership and you won’t have to remember to renew for a while! You’ll be kept up-to-date with the society and festival activities via email as well as invited to our Annual Membership Meeting for the yearly review and you also get a vote.
$100 - Lifetime Membership
The Lifetime membership is the best deal here! You’ll be kept up-to-date on the society’s activities, festival plans, events and more via email. You’ll also be invited to our Annual Membership Meeting where your vote counts. This is where the year’s activities are summarized and new board members are elected by the membership at large.
